I Confess!
As many of you might know I kind of have to confess that I drink way to much Pepsi (Max) . When they announced that you could win tickets for Beyonce’s show in Amsterdam a few months ago I knew that this was MY kind of contest. So I kept on drinking and drinking more and more Pepsi (together with everyone who was helping us with working in our house) and kept on checking the codes in the lids to see if I was one of the lucky people who could win a ticket to Beyonces show.
Unfortunately I didn’t win…not even after 74 bottles of Pepsi. (Burp!) Then the new contest started where you had to keep your lids to compete in another contest to win a meet and greet with Beyonce’s support act Eva Simons and win tickets to the concert. One day before the show I found out that there would be 3 contests at 3 locations in my country where you could come to with all your lids to compete for tickets. I called my best friend Linda and convinced her to come with me.
Let’s Have A Party
So in the morning we went to the first location. We knew that they had 10 duo tickets so we figured out that 3 couples at each location could win. After waiting for about 1,5 hours (the presenter was running late because his car broke down) we could finally start the competition. Since there were only 3 couples competing (incl. us) and we had enough lids with us (the others had 200 and 55 lids, we had 76) we could enter the competition. The two girls with the 200 lids won immediately and we had to compete against the other couple. We had to “make our own party” and invite as many people as possible to our party. The couple with the biggest crowd would win tickets. So we actually were standing at the main square in front of the central train station in our city and had to start pole dancing and acting crazy (with wigs and inflated animals) trying to convince as many people as possible to party with us.
Even though me and Linda danced our asses off and the cameraman and photographer made some really embarrassing shots of us we didn’t get that many people to dance because it was a Sunday morning and those few people there weren’t in the mood to dance. I did manage to get some homeless guys to participate because I promised them that Beyonce would be there if he would help us.. (oops!) sorry guys!
All The Single Ladies
In the end the other couple won…but then the presenter told us…You’re really disappointed now, aren’t you? Well, surprise…you also get two tickets!!!Ahhhhhh!!! We won! We kinda thought we would win because there were only three couples, but we were to afraid to believe it would really happen…but it did! Yes!
We packed our stuff, received a goodie bag with a Pepsi T-shirt, Key chain, Beyonce poster and cans and went inside the super cool Pepsi Rider VIP bus with about 20 flat screens inside (with Beyonce on it ofcourse), a dancefloor, smoke machines and even fire on top of the bus…OMG this was sooo much fun. Together with the other contestants, the Pepsi crew and the presenter (Dennis Weenink) we drove to the next locations where other fans had to compete again. In the afternoon we partied all day, had sweets, lunch, more than enough Pepsi and many laughs inside the bus before we arrived at the venue. First we had our meet and greet with Eva Simons who you might know of the hit song ‘This Is Love’ with Will.I.Am. She was really sweet and funny and was really excited to be supporting Beyonce.
Meet ‘N Greet With Eva Simons
After the meet and greet we had a fabulous buffet style dinner in our own vip area which was delicious. After dinner 2 of the winners could win an ticket-upgrade with this 1-minute contest. Whoever wrote down the most songs of Beyonce would win 2 front row tickets. Unfortunately me and Linda both had this huge black out so we only wrote down 11 names of songs. The winners wrote down 15.
Then we went to the concert and had an absolutely amazing time! What a great show, what an incredible voice…OMG Beyonce is the Queen of music if you’d ask me…I’m soooo happy we got to be at this show! We’ve already bought tickets to see her in Belgium in May so we will see her again in 3 weeks. I can’t wait!
What A Ride!
After the amazing show, where we saw many Dutch celebs (for the Dutchies; Glennis Grace, Fajah Lourens, Jan Des Bouvrie (and wife), Maurice Wijnen and some others) we took the train back home which was also paid by Pepsi.
What a fun day! Who would have though that I would actually win this! It’s my second time winning a competition with Pepsi and I must say that they really make a prize perfect. Thanks Pepsi Netherlands! I’ve had a blast!
Here’s a video I’ve made during the concert and some pictures:
