2012 has brought me some amazing new music by familiar artists and also a few new ones. I love how the music in my country has changed so much through this year. Commercial pop/rock songs have made place for more interesting fresh new sounds which are surprisingly doing well on the Dutch Charts. Music that I was loving before are finally being played on the radio a lot. That’s a great change!
As you can see I have a diverse taste in music, enjoy and get inspired!

Fun screaming song, but I LOVE IT!

11. Emeli Sande – Next To Me
I love her amazing voice. This song just makes me want to have a voice like her and sing along.

10. Of Monsters And Men – Little Talks
Such a great song. Reminds me of both times I saw them live at festivals in Holland this summer. They had a blast on stage and made a great party with the crowd.

9. Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe
I know, it’s been a very overplayed song, super poppy. But I LOVE IT. It makes me happy and feel like a bubbly teenager when I listen to this song.

8. Michael Kiwanuka – Home Again
Such a perfect song. I love the lyrics, the sound and most of all his relaxing voice.

7. Will And The People – Lion In The Morning Sun
On of the most fun songs of 2012. Saw them many times live this year and they made everyone go crazy when they performed this song. Crazy stuff!

6. Asaf Avidan – One Day / Reckoning Song (Wankelnut Remix)
Great song, simply love it. Can’t wait to see him live next year!

5. Ed Sheeran – Lego House
Ed Sheeran is deff a artist which I’ve been listening to a lot this year. I love all his songs. He reminds me of Daniel Bedingfield. He’s got the same diversity and musical talent. I also love the video.

4. Passenger – Let Her Go
Ever since I saw him as Ed Sheeran’s support act I knew that he would be a big star soon. This song has been playing non-stop on Dutch radio stations and I love it every time I listen to it.

3. Alicia Keys – Girl On Fire
The first time I’ve heard this song I had to replay in 4 times to finally get this new sound. Now it’s been stuck in my head for weeks. Such a new refreshing sound with the typical Alicia Keys strong lyrics. Great!

2. Rudimental – Feel The Love
Such an amazing song, this music gets me up and dance. The song builds up to this crazy high and I love everything about it. I also love how the video isn’t what we expect to see with this kind of music.

1. Ben Howard – Keep Your Head Up
Most definitely my favorite song of the year. I love all Ben’s songs but this one makes me smile every time I listen to it. I also love the video for this song. It brings back great memories from this summer.

Damn, that was quite hard to pick. I love many many more songs, and probably this top 12 will switch if I look it over again, but I love every song in this list.
