Eye Problems
Gus (Eastwood) has been a baseball scout for many years when he finds out that his age gets the better hand of him. He starts loosing his sight and that’s his most important part of his job, the eye for the talent. The modern technology makes it harder for him to stay on top of the game because he works in the old fashioned way.
When Gus has to go on a recruiting trip to proof to his boss that he still has got the best eye for talent out there his colleague Pete (Goodman) is worried about his eye problems and tells Gus’s daughter Mickey (Adams) about his condition. Mickey is a very hard working as a lawyer and is about to get promoted. She has been working her ass of for years to get that position. When Pete tells her about her dad she decides to take a few days off and help him during his recruiting trip.
Father & Daughter
When Mickey was a little girl she always used to go recruit with her dad so she knows how to spot talent. Because of some heartbreaking memories between the two of them it’s hard for them to be around each other and it isn’t easy for Gus to commit that he likes it for her to be around.
During their trip they also meet another scout Johnny (Timberlake) who’s also looking out to buy the same kid for his club. He’s competition but also in the same game. He and Mickey start to really enjoy each others company and might also start a romance thing together. I won’t spoil all the details, since you still might have to see the movie.
What did I think about this movie?
Even though the movie is a bit cliché you don’t have to be the biggest sports fan to like this movie. It’s a great story about the love between a father and a daughter and all it’s upos and downs. I also usually don’t like Clint Eastwood movies, but this one really has the right amount of drama, sports, laughs and even some romance put into it. I would definitely recommend everyone to go see this movie.
