We all get born somewhere else and we can’t choose where we are when we first meet this amazing world. Some people get born in a poor country and start surviving from the first second they’re alive. Other people have the privilege to be born in a country where people have enough money to do all the things in live that they enjoy. Those people are lucky to be born in that country, but what if you were born somewhere else?
What if you could choose which country you were born in? Would you rather be born in the ‘Land Of The Free’ America or be eating with sticks in China? Always have sunny days in Jamaica or have a nice and quiet life in Greenland. Or do you love your own nationality so much that you wouldn’t want it to change?
My answer to this question?
I was born in the South of the Netherlands and I have always been very happy with my nationality. Of course I had my moments, I always loved the United States and wondered how it would be like to live there. So I spend 3 summers there, in West Virginia (worked and lived at a summer camp in 2005 & 2006) and did a 6 Months long internship in South Carolina where I lived in Myrtle Beach. Even though I loved my life in the States, I always had my home country in the back of my mind and found out that things are much better at home (for me) then they were in the USA. For example insurance, rules, food, just too many things that I prefer the way they are at home.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the USA, but for me there’s no place like home.
What about you? What Nationality would you like to have if you could choose any?
(I’ve read this one somewhere else and I thought this was a great question)
